<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />June 5, 2007 <br />Page 4 of 14 <br />formally states its desire to participate in regional economic development <br />practices that benefit the entire metro Denver area. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tern Brown stated the Business Retention and Development <br />Committee has reviewed the Code of Ethics and supports the City adopting it. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council member Muckle moved to approve Resolution No. 27, Series <br />2007, seconded by Council member Marsella. All in favor. <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION OF MAR~~ MONROE, lOUISVlllE REPRESENTATIVE TO <br />THE BOULDER COUNTY CONSORTIUM OF CITIES ENERGY STRATEGY <br />TASK FORCE <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tern Brown explained Mark Monroe volunteered to be the Louisville <br />representative on the Bouldelr County Consortium of Cities Energy Strategy Task <br />Force (ESTF). He has been a Louisville resident for over 13 years and of the <br />Boulder area since 1982. <br /> <br />Mark Monroe stated he is the Director of Sustainable Computing for Sun <br />Microsystems, a part of Sun's Eco-responsibility team. He is responsible for <br />driving Sun's Green Data Center initiative, working to build and retrofit <br />sustainable, carbon-neutral computing at a large scale. He has a Masters of <br />Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on Solar Engineering, <br />and 25 years of experience in the computer industry. <br /> <br />Monroe discussed some shmt term actions Louisville could take to reduce <br />energy consumption, cost, and greenhouse gases and items the Council may <br />want to consider in the upcoming budget process. He requested feedback on <br />issues currently before the Energy Task Force. <br /> <br />Land Management Director Hobson reported he and Recreation and Senior <br />Services Director Williams have met to consider an RFP for energy efficient <br />measures for the Recreation Center and the Police Department. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk arrived at the meeting at 7:44 p.m. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENT <br /> <br />Council member Muckle favored using high efficiency light bulbs and pursuing <br />regional opportunities for altE!rnative energy sources such as wind power. <br /> <br />Council member Clabots expressed interest in pursuing grant opportunities <br />through Xcel Energy and the County. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tern Brown recognized Council member Clabots for his work on such <br />projects and commended Mr. Monroe for his work.
