He requested Mr. Monroe <br />report to Council, as needed. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk stated there will also be opportunities to address energy efficiency <br />such as solar and wind powelr in the future. He noted the Metro Mayors Caucus <br />has discussed such issues. He recognized Mr. Monroe for his work. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION/MEMBERSHIP REQUEST - ROCKY MOUNTAIN CLIMATE <br />ORGANIZATION <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown introduced Stephen Saunders, President of the Rocky <br />Climate Organization, which is based in Louisville. He requested Council <br />consider membership in the Hocky Mountain Climate organization. <br /> <br />Stephen Saunders gave an overview of the organization and its mission. Their <br />mission: "Spreading the word about what climate disruption can do to us here <br />and what we can do about it." He noted the number of partners who are <br />members in the organization. He addressed the Blue Ribbon Panel, which chose <br />a panel of experts who will analyze what can be done on climate changes in <br />Colorado. Membership in thEl Rocky Mountain Climate Organization provides <br />partners with information and updates on climate change in the Rocky Mountain <br />region. Dues for organizations with 250 employees or less range from $500 to <br />$2,000 per year. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk suggested this matter be referred to the Finance Committee for <br />consideration. There was Council consensus <br /> <br />HOYLE PROPERTY <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light explained a process was initiated for the IGA parties' review <br />of a proposed amendment to the IGA that would permit consideration of <br />Industrial zoning. Louisville, Lafayette and Boulder County have approved the <br />proposed amendment. Broomfield has not yet approved the amendment; at its <br />May 8, 2007 meeting the Broomfield City Council expressed interest in an <br />addition to the amendment and tabled the approval pending further review. <br /> <br />In May, the City Council direeted Staff to send a letter to the Broomfield Mayor <br />and City Council requesting action on the Hoyle property amendment. Staff has <br />not received a response from Broomfield. Staff recommended the Council open <br />the public hearing and continue the second readings of the ordinances. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk opened the public hearing and requested City Attorney Light's <br />comments be incorporated into the hearing. <br />
