The changes will
make licensing more enforceable and narrow the scope, requiring licensing of "each
location of any business on any premise within the City". This will eliminate licensing
outside businesses except routine delivery or vending. The definition of "business" has
been expanded to include home occupation. The Ordinance also eliminates exemptions of
professional businesses, requiring all businesses to be licensed. There is a provision to
pro-rate the fees, and increasing the fees from fifteen to twenty dollars, which will offset
the pro-ration. This will provide for a comprehensive database of all businesses within
the City of Louisville.

Davidson opened the public hearing and asked if anyone in the audience wished to speak
for or against Ordinance No. 1323, Series 2000.

Hearing none, Davidson closed the public hearing.
Davidson called for council comments and questions.

7
