<br />(b) Whenever authorized signs are erected indicating that <br />no right, left or U-turn is permitted, no person opera- <br />ting a bicycle shall disobey the direction of any such <br />signs, except where such persons dismount from the bicycle <br />to make any such turn, in whi ch event such person shall <br />then obey the regulations applicable to pedestrians. <br /> <br />Section 3l-A-4 Ridinq on Bicycles <br /> <br />(a) No person propelling a bicycle shall ride other than <br />astride a permanent and regular seat attached thereto. <br /> <br />(b) No bicycle shall be used to carry more persons at <br />one time than the number for which it is designed and <br />equipped. <br /> <br />Section 3l-A-5 Riding on Roadways and Bicycle Paths <br /> <br />(a) Every person operating a bicycle upon a street <br />shall ride as near to the right-hand side of the road- <br />way a practicable, exercising due care when passing <br />a standing vehicle or one proceeding in the same direc- <br />tion. <br /> <br />(b) Persons riding bicycles upon a roadway shall not <br />ride more than 1~0 abreast except on paths or roadways, <br />or parts of roadways, set aside for the exclusive use <br />of bicycles. <br /> <br />(c) Whenever a useable path for bicycles has been <br />provided adjacent to a roadway, bicycle-riders shall <br />use such path and shall not use the roadway. <br /> <br />Section 3l-A-6 Spee~ <br /> <br />No person shall operate a bicycle at a speed greater <br />than is reasonable and prudent under the conditions <br />than existing. <br /> <br />Section 3l-A-7 EntE~ring or Emerging from Alley, Driveway, <br />or Buil di ng <br /> <br />The operator of a bicycle entering or emerging from <br />an alley, drive\tlay or building shall, upon approaching <br />a sidewalk, or the sidewalk area extending across any <br />alleyway or driveway, yield the right-of-way to all <br />pedestrians appt"oaching on such sidewalk or sidewalk <br />area, and upon entering the roadway shall yield the <br />right-of-way to all vehicles approaching such roadway. <br /> <br />Section 3l-A-8 Carrying Articles <br /> <br />No persons operati ng a bi cycl e shall carry any package, <br />bundle or article which prevents the rider from keeping <br />at least one hand firmly upon the handlebars, and in <br />full control of such bicycle. <br /> <br />Section 3l-A-9 Parking <br /> <br />No person shall stand or park a bicycle upon a street, <br />other than upon the roadway against the curb, upon the <br />sidewalk, in a I~ack to support the bicycle, against <br />a building, or at the curb in such a manner as to afford <br /> <br />-2- <br />
