Inspectors shall be assigned to call attention of con- <br /> <br />tractors to infringements of these instructions and shall have authority <br /> <br />to reject defective materials and workmenship, and to stop work until <br /> <br />such time as contractor shall correct the situation in question, subject <br /> <br />to final decision of the City Manager. <br /> <br />Section 6. Inspection Faci1ities.--The contractor shall furnish all <br /> <br />reasonable facilities and a.ssistance to the Inspector necessary for proper <br /> <br />inspection of materials to be used and construction methods to determine <br /> <br />compliance with these instJ::'uctions. <br /> <br />Section 7. Rejected lJ[ateria1s and Work.--Whenever Inspector finds <br /> <br />it necessary to reject matE~ria1s of defective work, the contractor shall <br /> <br />promptly remove such rejected materials and defective construction from <br /> <br />the site. In the event thE~ contractor fails to remove rejected items <br /> <br />promptly, the City Manager may arrange for such removal at the expense of <br /> <br />the contractor. <br /> <br />Section 8. Curb Cuts..--At curb cuts, the contractor shall remove <br /> <br />." <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />so much of the curb and gutter as is necessary to permit proper construc'""' <br /> <br />tion of the driveway entrallce and maintenance of the gutter. Removed <br /> <br />materials shall be removed from the site by the contractor. New con- <br /> <br />struction shall conform with plans as prescribed by the City Engineer. <br /> <br />Section 9. Marking.--A11 sidewalks, curb, gutters and driveways <br /> <br />shall have the name of the contractor and the year of construction im- <br /> <br />pressed therein, using block letters one inch high and three-eights (3/8) <br /> <br />inch deep. One impression shall be made in each driveway. Impressions <br /> <br />shall be made in sidewalks, curbs and gutters at each of construction, or <br /> <br />at one hundred (100) foot intervals and at each extension to curbing. <br /> <br />-3- <br />
