<br />Section 4A-8. Vacation Leave after Ten Years Service. City employ- <br />ees who have completed ten (10) years continuous service with the City <br />shall be allowed three (3) work weeks of paid vacation leave each year <br />thereafter. Pay will be based on current basic salary. <br />Section 4A-9. Vacation Leave after TwentvYears Service. City <br />employees who have completed twenty (20) years continuous service with <br />the City shall be allowed four (4) work weeks of paid vacation leave <br />each year thereafter. Pay will be based on current basic salary. <br />Section 4A-10. Merit Vacation. An employee will earn additional <br />vacation as follows: <br />A. After five (5) years of continuous employment, a total of three <br />(3) working days to be taken during the ensuing five year period. <br />B. After ten (10) years of continuous employment, a total of eight <br />(8) working days to be taken during the ensuing five year period. <br />C. After fifteen (15) years of continuous employment, a total of <br />thirteen (13) working days to be taken during the ensuing five year <br />period. <br />D. After twenty (20) years of continuous employment, a total of <br />eighteen (18) working days to be taken during each five year period <br />thereafter. <br />E. This additional vacation must be taken in at least one-half <br />(4 hour) increments. Only scheduled working days are counted as days <br />of vacation. A year will be counted toward continuous employment for <br />merit vacation credits only if the employee works any portion of each <br />week for a total of at least twenty-six (26) weeks during that year. <br />F. An employee is not eligible to carryover merit vacation from <br />one five year period to another. <br />Section 4A-ll. Vacation Leave for Policemen. Police personnel <br />shall be credited with ten .(10) calendar days additional vacation <br />allowance, in lieu of holidays worked, at the end of each completed <br />year of service. Pay will be based on current basic salary. <br /> <br />- 7 - <br />
