<br />ARTICLE 4 <br /> <br />o IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br />Engineering specifications for al I improvements are contained in the City of <br />Louisvi I Ie Publ ic Improvements Manual. <br /> <br />No improvements shal I be made until all plans, profi les and specifications <br />have been reviewed and approved by the City Engineer. <br /> <br />Section 4-101. Surface Improvements <br /> <br />Improvements to be provided by the subdivider shall include, but not be <br />limited to: <br /> <br />(A) Permanent survey monuments, range points and lot pins; <br /> <br />(B) Curbs, gutters and sidewalks. In subdivisions in which the lots are of <br />an acre or more in size, sidewalks may not be required. Sidewalks on arterial <br />streets shal I be set back a minimum of eight (8) feet from the curb; <br /> <br />(C) Paved streets; <br /> <br />(D) Paved alleys (when platted); <br /> <br />(E) Street name signs; <br /> <br />(F) Bridges, culverts or open drainage channels (where required); <br /> <br />(G) Street lights; <br /> <br />(H) Street trees; <br /> <br />(I) Two (2) street trees shal I be provided in residential subdivisions <br />for each lot of seventy (70) foot frontage or less and at least <br />three (3) trees for every lot in excess of seventy (70) foot front- <br />age. For corner lots at least two (2) trees shal I be required for <br />each street. The subdivider shal I ensure that the trees are located <br />so as not to interfere with sight distance at driveways. <br />(2) The type of tree to be installed shal I be determined by the City <br />Administrator. <br />(3) Deciduous trees shall be a minimum of one and one-half (It) inches <br />in caliper. Evergreen trees shal I be a minimum of four (4) feet in <br />height. <br />(4) Installation of trees on a lot shal I take place within one (I) year <br />fol lowing the issuance of an occupancy permit for the structure on <br />that lot. <br />(5) The subdivider shal I guarantee the replacement of any tree which <br />dies within one year fol lowing installation. <br /> <br />4-1 <br />
