Louisville City Council Meeting <br />April 4, 2000 <br />Page 4. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS - OPEN SPACE ADVISORY BOARD <br /> <br />Mayor Davidson requested that the City Attorney amend the Ordinance to provide for an <br />alternate member on the Open Space Advisory Board. <br /> <br />Davidson reviewed that there are seven positions available on the Open Space Advisory <br />Board: three 3-year terms, two 2-year terms, and two 1-year terms. <br /> <br />Davidson nominated Matt Jones, Pat Hornbostel, Susan Remington, Steven Bosley, Heidi <br />Ochis, Wayne Varra, Matt Jones and William Van Orman, seconded by Mayer. <br /> <br />Davidson called for any other nominations. Hearing none, Davidson closed the <br />nominations and asked for a vote. All in favor, with Keany and Levihn abstaining, <br /> <br />Davidson stated that when the Ordinance is modified to allow an alternate, he would <br />appoint Robert Muckle as alternate member. <br /> <br />MOTION: Davidson moved that Council appoint the following individuals: appointed <br />to the 3-year terms: Pat Hornbostel, Susan Remington, Steven Bosley; appointed to the 2- <br />year terms: Heidi Ochis, Wayne Varra; and appointed to the 1-year terms; Matt Jones, <br />William Van Orman, seconded by Brown. All in favor, with Levihn and Keany <br />abstaining. <br /> <br />Mayer stated that all of the 25 applicants were highly qualified. He thanked all the <br />candidates for their willingness to serve. <br /> <br />Brown commended all the candidates and stated that he was pleased with the response <br />and the expertise of the community. He encouraged people to continue to be interested <br />and involved in the development of the open space management program. <br /> <br />Sisk also commended and thanked all of the candidates who applied for the Open Space <br />Advisory Board. He stated that the decision was difficult to make because all of the <br />candidates were exceptional. He stated that the appointment of an alternate position <br />illustrates the importance that Council puts on this Board. <br /> <br />Davidson encouraged the candidates that were not appointed to apply for other City <br />boards and commissions when vacancies become available. He stated that all of the <br />candidates were well qualified to represent the City. <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br /> <br />
