<br />Louisville City Council Meeting <br />February 1,2005 <br />Page 8 of 10 <br /> <br />Staff recommended the City Council award the 2005 Community Park Contract to <br />Golden Triangle Construction, Inc. for the total lump sum price of$1,870,433. This <br />amount includes the lump sum base bid as well as Add Alternates 1 through 6. Included <br />in the recommendation was authorization for Staff to utilize $196,200 for project <br />contingency and issue project change orders and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to <br />execute contract documents on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENT <br /> <br />Council member VanPelt had questions relative to the construction management <br />agreement. Mayor Sisk inquired if all of the proj ect construction contingency would be <br />needed. He commended the Land Management Department for acquiring the COGO <br />grant. Lair estimated there would be funds left in the contingency fund. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council member Levihn moved that Council award bid to Golden Triangle <br />Construction, Inc., for the Community Park, seconded by Council member Van Pelt. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light offered a friendly amendment authorizing the Mayor to execute the <br />contract. <br /> <br />Council members Levihn and VanPelt accepted the friendly amendment. <br /> <br />VOTE: Roll call vote was taken. The motion passed by a vote of 5-0. Absent: Council <br />members Keany and Brown <br /> <br />LOUISVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY UPDATE <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Julie Boyd updated Council on the progress of the Louisville <br />Public Library project. She noted the Council will receive a library update at each <br />regular meeting. The Planning Commission approved the PUD on January 27 by a vote <br />of 5-2, with 4 additional conditions. Those conditions will be added to the resolution for <br />Council approval on February 15. She outlined the following meetings schedule: <br /> <br />. February 9, 2005 - Meeting with the Chamber of Commerce <br />. March 2, 2005 - Meeting with the Downtown Business Association <br />. March 17, 2005 - City Council public hearing <br /> <br />Boyd reported Public Works and Engineering Department will produce and install signs <br />for the interim parking plan. Street changes will be implemented by March 1; site work <br />is anticipated to begin by March 14; shoring by April 1; excavation by May 1; with the <br />completion of the garage by September 1.
