City Council Meeting Minutes June 21,2005 Page 7 of 11 Municipal Code, which specifically details what should be in the comprehensive plan. He stated he raised these issues with the Planning Commission throughout the review process. He stated the Planning Commission conducted an excellent process that was marked with integrity and concern for the views of the citizens. However, at the end of the process the Planning Commission made decisions inconsistent with the principles adopted. He asked the Mayor to outline the process and the schedule the Council will follow in their review of the Comprehensive Plan. Tom Davidson, 611 W. Chestnut Court, Louisville, CO complimented the Planning Commission on their review process for the Comp Plan. He urged the Council to listen to the citizens and not an owner of a large parcel of land when considering the Comprehensive Plan. He asked Council to look at some of the surrounding communities of Lafayette and Superior. He noted there is a housing imbalance to jobs in those communities and cities that have an abundance of houses have higher taxes. Adam Fells, Louisville Middle School Principal, addressed Louisville schools enrollment. He explained in the Boulder Valley School District there is a consolidation of schools requiring east to west open enrollments. He stated 1/3 of the Louisville Middle School students are open enrollment and come from other communities. He supported entry level housing, and mixed-use housing. He stated the health of the schools depends on the neighborhoods. COUNCIL COMMENT Mayor Sisk outlined the following schedule for the City Council's review of the Comprehensive Plan: . July 5, City Council meeting: Areas 4 and 7 will be discussed. . July 12, Special City Council meeting: Fiscal impacts and alterations of the Comprehensive Plan. . July 19, City Council meeting: Comprehensive Plan review. . August 2 City Council meeting: Comprehensive Plan review. Council member Marsella requested that Area 5 and 6 also be discussed. Mayor Sisk requested public comment and hearing none, continued the public hearing until July 5, 2005, where Area 4 and 7 will be discussed.
