There <br />were no comments. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENT <br /> <br />Council member Brown asked if this is a legal mechanism that was not provided <br />for in the sales tax ordinance. Finance Director Patty Leslie confirmed this was <br />not a provision of the sales tax ordinance. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council member Brown moved for Council approval of Ordinance No. <br />1475, Series 2005, seconded by Council member Clabots. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light offered a friendly amendment to correct a typographical error <br />on Ordinance No. 1475. Council members Brown and Clabots accepted the <br />amendment. <br /> <br />VOTE: Roll call vote was taken. The motion carried by a vote of 6-0. Absent: <br />Council member Levihn. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1476, SERIES 2005 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE <br />CHAPTER 15.36 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE, REGARDING <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION - 2ND reading - public hearing (advertised Daily <br />Camera 8/20/05) <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a City Attorney introduction. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light read Ordinance No. 1476, Series 2005. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Community Facilitator Meredyth Muth reported the Historic Preservation <br />Commission has reviewed four demolition requests for sites over 50 years old. <br />The Building Division has received a number of other requests for partial <br />demolition of structures over 50 years old. The current preservation ordinance <br />does not clearly define demolition. It is unclear when a Preservation Commission <br />review should be enacted. Staff recommends amending the ordinance to clearly <br />define what constitutes a demolition that would require the review by the Historic <br />Preservation Commission. <br /> <br />Members of the Preservation Commission suggest amending the ordinance to <br />define a demolition as that which would demolish at least 50% of the roof area, <br />50% of the exterior walls as measured contiguously, or the demolition of any wall <br />facing a public street.
