<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />September 20, 2005 <br />Page 14 of 15 <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons requested a Capital Projects Update. Deputy City <br />Manager Boyd reported on the progress of the Community Park; Memory Square <br />Park playground equipment; Davidson Mesa and Walnut Street Trails; and the <br />Tennis Court resurfacing and lights. There was Council consensus the <br />Community Park should be dedicated in the spring. <br /> <br />Council member Brown commented the tennis court resurfacing and lights <br />project came in significantly under budget. He also noted the lights at the in-line <br />skating rink turn on later than the lights at the tennis courts. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk suggested talking to the Boulder Valley School District about lighting <br />and the grand stands at Monarch High School. <br /> <br />Council member Keany asked about the skateboard park issues. City Attorney <br />Light reported on communications with counsel for the contractor. A monetary <br />offer was made and will be evaluated by the Land Management Department. <br /> <br />Council member Levihn asked for the completion date of the Dillon Road project. <br />Public Works Director Phare reported the paving will take two to three weeks and <br />the roadway should be open to traffic within a month. He also reported on the <br />street reconstruction; and the raw water pipeline projects. <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons updated Council on the following items: <br />. The results of a neighborhood meeting on the Main Street Sidewalks <br />Replacement Project, which leads to the new Community Park. <br />. Highway 42 Revitalization Area meeting where design guidelines were <br />discussed. <br />. Board of Appeals hearing on a roofing issue. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light reported the Board of Appeals dismissed the appeal for lack <br />of jurisdiction. The City Attorney's office will meet with the building department <br />and review code changes that could be undertaken to help clarify the rules for <br />roof replacement. <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons updated Council on the following items and meetings: <br />. September 21 - Meeting where the Boulder County Commissioner's will <br />consider the Xcel Energy High Pressure Station Temporary Permit. City <br />Staff will be in attendance to represent the City's interest. <br />. October 5 - Printed copies of the Comp Plan will be available. <br />. November 10 - The Planning Commission will review a development <br />proposal submitted by North End Properties LLC, which includes 551 <br />residential units, and 77,000 SF of commercial space. <br />. September 20 - Email received from Goodhue Ditch Company regarding <br />cleaning of the ditch below Pine Street beginning next week. <br />
