City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> • December 13, 2011 <br /> Page 5 of 7 <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilors noted both Barbara Butterworth and Michael Deborski are small business <br /> owners and active in the downtown community. <br /> Councilor Yarnell emphasized there aren't any negatives about any of the applicants. <br /> Mayor Muckle suggested continuing the meeting to another date. Councilor Dalton <br /> recommended another vote on all eleven candidates, with each Council member <br /> selecting four candidates. <br /> City Attorney Light clarified that if that was Council's desires, it could establish another <br /> pool of nominees with a motion that each Council member, by ballot, designate four <br /> applicants to fill the vacancy in Ward I and those applicants receiving at least three <br /> votes be considered as nominees for purposes off further rounds of balloting to fill the <br /> vacancy, and that the City Clerk distribute ballots for such purposes and tally the <br /> results. <br /> MOTION: Mayor Muckle moved that each Council member, by ballot, designate four <br /> applicants to fill the vacancy in Ward I and those applicants receiving at least three <br /> votes be considered as nominees for purposes off further rounds of balloting to fill the <br /> • vacancy and the City Clerk distribute ballots for such purposes and tally the results, <br /> seconded by Councilor Dalton. All were in favor. <br /> Paper ballots were voted and tallied and the results were as follows: David Baumgarten <br /> Barbara Butterworth, Michael Deborski, Paige Rodriquez and Anne Tengler. <br /> MOTION: Mayor Muckle moved the City Council appoint to fill the Ward I vacancy the <br /> nominee whom by ballot voting of the Council receives four votes and the City Clerk <br /> distribute ballots for such purposes and tally the results, seconded by Councilor Loo. All <br /> were in favor. <br /> Paper ballots were voted and tallied and the results were as follows: Three votes for <br /> Barbara Butterworth, two votes for Michael Deborski, and one vote for Anne Tengler. <br /> Mayor Muckle requested the City Council vote from the five nominees to fill the vacancy <br /> in Ward I. Paper ballots were voted and tallied and the results were as follows: Two <br /> votes for Barbara Butterworth, one vote for David Baumgarten, two votes for Paige <br /> Rodriquez and one vote for Michael Deborski. <br /> Mayor Muckle requested the City Council vote to fill the vacancy in Ward I. Paper <br /> ballots were voted and tallied and the results were as follows: Three votes for Paige <br /> Rodriquez, two votes for Barbara Butterworth and one vote for David Baumgarten. <br /> • <br />
