He suggested that burying the lines would improve and showcase the <br />greenbelt areas. He urged Council to proceed with burying the power lines. <br /> <br />Kirk Holub, 848 Trial Ridge Drive, Louisville, CO stated that there is an 8' difference in <br />the height of the pole. He stated that the web site provides abundant information on the <br />subject and that burying the lines is the way to go. He noted that the Planning <br />Commission recommended the steel H-frame poles. He suggested the Planning <br />Commission recommendation be disregarded. <br /> <br />Carrie DeGraw, 741 Orchard Drive, Louisville, CO stated that she has been a Louisville <br />resident for 22 years. She noted that she also owns a house in Old Town Louisville. She <br />stated that she has been a realtor in Louisville for 17 years and noted that housing in <br />Louisville has appreciated 25% in the last 18 months. She stated that Louisville is a <br />desirable place to live based on its limited growth, its schools, open space, and sound <br />commercial base. She stated that the above ground power lines are a community-wide <br />issue. She stated that the above ground power lines would effect the property values of <br />homes and that a special improvement district would penalize the residents. She urged <br />Council to bury the power lines. <br /> <br />Dereck Webster, 657 Fairfield Lane, Louisville; CO stated that he felt that PSCo did not <br />address the issue. He urged Council to bury the power lines. <br /> <br />Lawrence Anderson, 632 Manorwood Lane, Louisville, CO stated that he has lived and <br />worked in Louisville for 30 years. He asked that Council bury the power lines. He stated <br />that the citizens would be willing to pay for burying lines. <br /> <br />Fred Backes, 793 W. Tamarisk, Louisville, CO stated that he has been involved with the <br />issue for three or four months. He reported that he heard the City is looking at how other <br />communities have addressed the issue and how residents can offer their input. He stated <br />that Silverthorne is in the process of removing their power lines and that it presents a <br />beautiful image. He looked forward to seeing that in Louisville. <br /> <br />COUNCIL QUESTIONS <br /> <br />Mayer asked Mr. Diehl about the cost of the pole alternatives, should Council decided to <br />choose an alternative. Diehl stated that if Council chooses an alternative offered by <br />PSCo, PSCo would pay the cost. <br /> <br />Mayer asked how much power capacity would be increased. Diehl stated that the <br />upgrade would increase power almost 100%. <br /> <br /> <br />
