City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> April 17, 2012 <br /> Page 2 of 7 <br /> City of Louisville, Comcast Cable Television and the Greater Metro Telecommunications <br /> Consortium (GMTC), to promote the interests of Comcast Television and ignore the <br /> interest of the citizens of the City of Louisville. He referred to the Council's Code of <br /> Silence, the Council's big giveaway and the Louisville don't ask/don't tell policy. He <br /> stated his name was mentioned at a City Council Study Session, relative to his lack of <br /> response to a request for information. He stated he sent the Council an email six weeks <br /> ago relating to a City Council item. He read a section of his email letter. He addressed <br /> a letter he wrote to City Council in January of 2010. He stated he would stand in <br /> witness to the long-time practice of Louisville City officials protecting the interest of <br /> Comcast and not the interests of the citizens of Louisville. <br /> APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA <br /> Mayor Muckle called for changes to the consent agenda and hearing none, moved to <br /> approve the consent agenda, seconded by Councilor Loo. Approve an Agreement By and Between the City of Louisville and <br /> Resource Based International for Water Resources Engineering <br /> Consulting Services <br /> COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE <br /> AGENDA <br /> Council member Jasiak reminded the public of the events planned for the Arbor Day <br /> Celebration. On Thursday, April 19 there are two tree-plantings at the Louisville Middle <br /> School; the first is at 8:40 a.m. and the second at 9:30 a.m. <br /> Council member Keany addressed the word collusion, which Mr. Sobel used in his <br /> statement - the City and Comcast are in collusion. He noted the dictionary defines <br /> collusion as a secret agreement especially for fraudulent or treacherous purposes. He <br /> felt such statements against the Council were defamatory. Council member Keany <br /> assured Mr. Sobel there is no collusion between the City and Comcast Television. He <br /> stated perhaps the City has failed to enforce the Franchise Agreement, but there is no <br /> collusion between the City and Comcast Cable Television. <br /> Mayor Muckle will contact Mr. Sobel and schedule a mutually agreeable time to meet <br /> and review the documents. <br /> CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> City Manager Fleming reported on a new 4-way stop intersection at the corner of Pine <br /> and Front Street. Notices of the 4-way stop sign intersection have been posted for a <br />
