Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 21, 2012 <br />Page 8 of 10 <br /> <br />La Grave stated it would be great to also include the social history which Bridget Bacon <br />has created for these properties. <br />Robinson added the City can go back through our files and include the PDF link. <br />Jean Morgan inquired what was meant by including an overlay for endangered <br />properties. <br />La Grave stated similar to the properties that are currently under demolition permit <br />review. <br />Poppitz added similar to the property at 500 Pine on the southeast corner of Pine and <br />Lincoln. <br />Robinson stated he thought the HPC should put this as an item on a future agenda so <br />that we can discuss it further. <br />Update on Demolition Request – 1201 Lafarge <br />Robinson presented the attached memo explaining how 1201 Lafarge had been <br />released at subcommittee based on lack of architectural and social integrity. <br />Koertje stated he liked having these memos as part of our agenda. <br />Updates <br />Grain Elevator <br />Robinson presented the memo, discussing the RFP currently under review to find a <br />private partner. The City is putting together a team to review the proposals. He <br />th <br />reminded the board this demo permit is set to expire on July 13. <br />Poppitz stated he has been working a lot on this project with a client interested in <br />purchasing this property, and then found out this property is currently under contract <br />with someone else. He inquired to staff whether he should submit his clients <br />information if the Grain Elevator is already under contract. <br />Robinson answered he certainly could. <br />Demo Code Status <br />Robinson stated staff is currently working on code amendments but do not have <br />anything to present at this time period. <br />Stewart stated staff should continue to work on the letters going out to the existing <br />outstanding permits. <br />Austin Niehoff HSA and the Reconnaissance Survey <br /> <br />
