Historic Preservation Commission
Meeting Minutes
April 16, 2012

Stewart - I believe this structure has amazing architectural integrity, I hope the windows
should be retained. I am in support of this.
Lewis - I do like the offset nature of this opening.
Fasick - do you believe it is original.
Lewis - yes.
Koertje - I agree with all of your comments. Based on the 1948 County photo it is
evident this structure, as is, is at least 60 years old - maybe older.
Lewis - Motion, approval based on the following: based on staff presentation and
clipped gable architecture is unique to Louisville
Koertje - friendly amendment - fourth whereas is confusing, please rewrite to separate
the architecture and social history as town different points. Does the applicant feel the
name is appropriate.
Qualls - yes
Stewart - one more amendment - take out "fairly" in front of strong.
Koertje seconded. Motion carried 4 to 0.
Name Vote
Mike Koertje Yes
Heather Lewis Yes
Jessica Fasick Yes
Florian Speier Absent
Aquiles La Grave Absent
Peter Stewart Yes
Steve Poppitz Absent
Motion passed: 4 to 0

Presentation of Livable Cities Plan
Robinson stated the applicant is not hear at the meeting.
Plaque Design
McCartney presented the draft plaque design, including the idea of placing this plaque
near the street.
Stewart - I believe this works with the direction we had originally discussed. Including
the miner logo is a good idea. I am hesitant to include the City website because they
change over time. I do like the numbering system.
