<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 15, 2005 <br />Page 7 of 9 <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a City Attorney introduction. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light read Ordinance No. 1481, Series 2005. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk explained this is the first reading of the ordinance. The ordinance will <br />be published and a public hearing will be set. <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved Ordinance No. 1481, Series 2005 be sent out for <br />publication and a public hearing be set for December 6, 2005, seconded by <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown. All in favor. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested Chief Goodman prepare a memo for Council review <br />regarding Ordinance No. 1481, Series 2005. <br /> <br />LIBRARY UPDATE <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Boyd updated Council on the new library project. Work <br />included the garage ramp, erecting the steel, the layout for the access floor grid <br />and plumbing and electrical work; decking for the second floor; roof and ramp <br />installation and rebar. It is anticipated the library project will be completed on <br />schedule, with a June 8, 2006 substantial completion date. She addressed the <br />budget contingencies for excavation, and noted as the excavation is complete, <br />the Library Project Team will determine whether those funds could be added to <br />the Library Project, specifically, for energy efficient elements to the building. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown inquired as to the 1 % budget line item for the Arts. <br />Deputy City Manager Boyd explained it is the budget format maintained by the <br />Architect and should be deleted from the Louisville Library Project budget. She <br />explained he does extensive work throughout the Metro area. <br /> <br />Council member Muckle noted the library had several budget cuts, and asked if <br />the contingency money could be used to purchase books. Deputy City Manager <br />Boyd explained the funds are from the Library Bond Issue and designated for the <br />construction of the library building. <br /> <br />Council member Marsella confirmed the Library Project Team is looking at <br />energy efficient measures for the new library building. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />City Attorney Light reported the court ordered mediation on the Sawyer litigation <br />case has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 22, 2005.
