All in favor. <br /> <br />UPDATE - LIBRARY PROJECT - FURNITURE PLAN <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Julie Boyd updated City Council on the progress of the new <br />library. The main interior staircase has been installed and work continues in <br />preparation for the outside masonry installation. The canopies are now in place <br />and the building interior signage is being reviewed. The furniture, shelving and <br />millwork must be ordered prior to December 31 to avoid beginning of the year <br />price increases, and will include several different contracts for different vendors <br />who carry specific lines of the furniture selected by the library's interior designer. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk thanked Deputy City Manager Boyd for working with the construction <br />crews to mitigate the construction dust and dirt in the area. <br /> <br />Council member Marsella questioned the budget outline relative to the mill levy <br />proceeds. Finance Director Leslie explained the financial reconciliation of the <br />debt service and the mill levy proceeds. <br /> <br />Library Director Anne Mojo updated Council on the proposed library furniture <br />through a PowerPoint presentation and a catalog of fabrics and color boards. <br /> <br />APPROVE BUDGET FOR PURCHASE OF FURNITURE <br />MILLWORK/SHELVING FOR NEW LOUISVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY BUILDING <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Boyd outlined the process followed by the City for the <br />library millwork, shelving and furniture. Request for Proposals (RFP) were sent <br />to 24 furniture/shelving representatives, 18 millwork companies, and four bidders <br />who had contacted the City. The RFP had 3 major components; supply and <br />installation of metal shelving; millwork, including end panels, canopy tops, and <br />miscellaneous desktops and book shelving; and furniture, such as couches, <br />chairs and tables. Bids were opened on December 15. The project furniture <br />budget is $379,654. The total cost for the millwork, shelving, and furniture is <br />$351,901, which is $27,663 under budget. <br />
