Historic Preservation Commission
Meeting Minutes
August 20, 2012
Page 8of 10
McCartney presented the attached 2013 budget spreadsheet. He explained the current
spreadsheet has the possible purchase of the Grain Elevator and how that will affect the
future of the grant distribution. He stated the following projects are recommending to be
budgeted for next year:

Downtown Survey –a detail review of the 2000 Architectural Survey.

Public Outreach
Koertje asked aboutthe contributions line item. He inquired if that meant grants.
McCartney answered in the affirmative.
Koertje then asked if the money included in the survey line item was for the consultant
only or was there money included for the Museum Coordinator, Bridget Bacon.
McCartney stated the money was primarily for the consultant. Bacon is now a full time
employee and will be paid through her regular salary.
Stewart asked about property acquisition line item and why the request dropped from
$100,000 in 2011 and now has dropped.
McCartney stated the $100,000 was set aside for a one time request from the HPC to
purchase the hospital property on Jefferson. But there has not been any further
requests for acquisitions.
Stewart then inquired about the future development of a master plan and if there was
any money set aside for this.
McCartney stated the surveys being completed will be the bulk of the master plan and
the remainder could be created in house. However if the HPC is interested in having a
more formal process we can include the request in the budget.
Public Comments
Steve Popptiz inquired about the dues/subscriptions/books line item and why there was
so much money set aside.
McCartney stated it is primarily for the subscriptions to the National Alliance of
Preservation Commissioners and Downtown Colorado Incorporated –both are
organizations the HPC renews each year.
There were no further questions.
Committee Reports –Outreach Committee
Stewart asked to continue this item to next meeting.
Update on Demolition Requests –508 Lincoln, 612 Lincoln
508 Lincoln
