2012 STREET, SIDEWALK, AND UTILITY PROJECTS • G, he warm weather brings with it the summer construction season. This year the Public 1 Works Department will be completing multiple projects on utilities, streets, and side - 8 .. walks. Those property owners directly affected by the projects will receive a detailed notice from Public Works. Additional information is available on the City's web site at www.Lou- isvilleCO.gov. Look for the link on the right hand column titled "Construction Updates." The web site includes work schedules and project maps, and will include updated informa- tion if there are project delays or weather disruptions. We appreciate your patience as streets and sidewalks are disrupted. Should you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Department at 303.335.4608 or PWorks@LouisvilleCO.gov. bcsiai 2012 UTILITY PROJECT We are about half way through this project that encom- passes the south end of Old Town. The project includes the replacement of approximately 3000 lineal feet of water and sewer lines. Construction should be complete in mid June. 2012 PAVEMENT CRACK SEAL PROJECT Our contractor is currently working in various locations City wide to seal moderate to severe pavement cracks that have been identified as needing repair. Work should be complete by the end of May. HIGHWAY 42 WALKWAY AND RETAINING WALL PROJECT The project will complete the missing sidewalk segment along the west side of State Highway 42 between Harper Street and South Boulder Road. Construction began in mid April and should be complete by late May. BE WATER WISE A nyone who has lived here for more than a few years can tell you that this past winter was a dry one!! In fact, March, normally our wettest month, was the driest on record. Snow pack is down and warm weather has been abundant. As such, we are preparing for a below average year for water availability. The City has not implemented any portions of the Drought Management Plan (available at www.LouisvilleCO.gov), but if warm, dry weather continues into the summer that is possible. In the meantime, the City is asking you to conserve as much water as possible. Please be water wise!! 2012 CONCRETE REPLACEMENT PROJECT Each year City staff examines sidewalk segments for safety hazards, severe settlement, cracking and deficien- cies and then identifies those needing replacement. Our contractor will be replacing concrete in various locations City wide from mid May to early July. 2012 STREET CONSTRUCTION Staff annually evaluates streets for wear and tear and identifies those areas that need help or maintenance to preserve and extend the life cycle of the asphalt pave- ment. In severe cases we will replace an entire pavement section. Street construction will commence in various locations in late June and is expected to be complete by mid August. NEW RIGHT -OF -WAY PERMIT FEES The City recently adopted new fees and proce- dures for right -of -way permitting. As of April 3, 2012 a base fee of $50 is being charged for all right - of -way permits. A list of the new fees and the permit application are available at www.LouisvilleCO.gov under the Public Works, Engineering section. Right -of -way permits are required for any work in the City's rights -of -way, or for the placing of storage con- tainers, trailers, dumpsters, or materials in the right -of- way.
