Louisville Historical Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />December 5, 2012 <br />Louisville Public Library Meeting Room <br />951 Spruce Street <br />6:30 PM <br />I. Call to order. The meeting was called to order at 6:40. <br />II. Roll Call. <br />Commission Members Present: Dan Mellish, Anne Robinson, Dave Ferguson, Lynn Koglin, <br />Brian Chamberlain, Gladys Pilz, Sally Burlingame, Andy Williams, Jennifer Strand <br />Commission Members Absent: Andy Williams, Pat Seader <br />City Representatives present: Bridget Bacon, Beth Barrett <br />III. Approval of agenda. Members approved the agenda. <br />IV. Public comments: None. <br />V. Approval of minutes. Members approved the regular meeting minutes for September 19, 2012 <br />and subcommittee minutes for Oct. 9, Oct. 30, and Nov. 15. <br />VI. Discussion/Direction/Action – Inclusion of Museum Campus Plans in Comprehensive Plan. <br />The group reviewed the draft language from the Planning Department for the heritage section of <br />the Louisville Comprehensive Plan and made suggestions. Bridget will make revisions to the <br />wording, discuss with Dan Mellish and Beth Barrett, and provide the language to the Louisville <br />Planning Department. <br />Dan Mellish also encouraged the members to go to the Envision Louisville website to “second” <br />the idea that he has submitted about the need for a new building on the Museum campus. <br />Lynn Koglin offered to attend a meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission in order to <br />discuss with the members the need for a new building on the Museum campus. <br />VII. Meeting as Advisory Board for the City of Louisville <br />A. Report from the Director of Library & Museum Services. Beth Barrett reported that the <br />Library had created a book tree in the lobby, which Commission members admired. <br />Children’s program attendance is up dramatically this year, going from 300 last year to 1400 <br />for the same month this year. The City has been working on an IT Strategic Plan which <br />includes plans to address problems with the Museum’s connectivity to City server. Currently <br />it is very difficult to connect from the Museum to the server due to slow connection speed and <br />intermittent connectivity failure. <br />B.
