Visitors Report and Tours <br />August - 167 <br />Year to Date - 920 <br />1. School tours have begun. Don Ross led a tour for St. Louis School. The <br />new activity sheets were handed out for the students for the first time. <br />2. Volunteers will be needed to host school tours. <br />D. Activity Report <br />1. Mary Kay Knorr donated curtains to cover the storage room door. <br />2. Ron Buffo will give a presentation on the Hecla Mine at the Louisville <br />Library on September 13th at 7:00 p.m. <br />E. Non-Profit Mail Permit <br />1. The permit was used for the first time for the mailing of the Louisville <br />Historian in August. There will likely be no real savings this year, but <br />approximately $120 a year is expected to be saved starting in 2008, <br />based on five mailings per year and based on current numbers of <br />recipients. <br />2. The Commission voted to set up a credit account in the amount of $500 <br />at the Post Office so individuals do not have to pay for mailings and then <br />be reimbursed. <br />3. The permit is per calendar year and the cost of the permit is $175 per <br />year. <br /> <br />IX. Committee Reports <br />A. Facility Management <br />1. Jordinelli House <br />a. Current fencing bid is $20,000 for wrought iron to match existing <br />fence. <br />b. The concrete pad area will be left unfenced at this time. <br />c. Benches may be placed on concrete pad. <br />d. Meredyth Muth will research cost of benches for the garden area. <br />Donations may be sought to cover the cost. <br />2. Landscaping <br />a. The punching machine, safes, and forge will be placed north of the <br />Jordinelli House near the back path. <br />b. The path, fence and irrigation may be placed this year. <br />c. Final plantings will be next spring <br />d. Funds for irrigation were approved by the Commission. <br />e. Research on interpretive signs is still in progress. <br />f. The chimneys will be checked for repair needs. <br />B. Community Education - No report <br />C. Events and Fundraising <br />1. La Festa brought in $276.00. <br />2. Fall Festival brought in $6,778.00. <br />3. A framed poster of the Louisville Postcard will be sent with a thank you to <br />the Boulder Toyota dealership for the car donation <br />4. The Bocce tournament has been cancelled. <br />5. The November utility bill mailing will include a flyer on the Holiday Home <br />Tour. <br />
