Louisville City Council Meeting <br />March 19, 2002 <br />Page 10 <br /> <br />ACQUISITION OF REAL ESTATE PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.92.010 OF THE <br /> LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> <br />Sisk called for City Attomey introduction. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light read the following notice: Pursuant to Section 2.92.010 of the <br />Louisville Municipal Code, Notice is Hereby Given That at Its April 2, 2002 Regular <br />Meeting, The Louisville City Council will Make a Final Determination as to the <br />Purchase, For Open Space Purposes, of an Undivided Twenty-Five Percent Fee Title <br />Interest in a Certain Parcel of Land Totaling Approximately 154.48 acres, more or less, <br />located at the Southeast Comer of the Intersection of Colorado State Highway 42 and <br />South 104th Street, and in the NW ¼ of Section 15, Township 1 South, Range 69 West of <br />the 6th P.M. <br /> <br />Sisk called for Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Assistant to the City Manager Heather Balser reported that Boulder County has <br />purchased 154.48 acres of land located at the southeast comer of the intersection of <br />Highway 42 and South 104th Street. Louisville and Lafayette intend to enter into an <br />Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) for purchase and sale of fee title interest in and <br />reciprocal conservation easements over the entire property. Staff anticipates presenting <br />an IGA at the April 2, 2002 meeting, with the second reading of Ordinance No. 1381, <br />Series 2002. Balser reported that the Louisville Citizens Open Space Advisory Board <br />reviewed the IGA at their regular meeting on March 18, 2002. <br /> <br />Sisk called for public comments. There were no public comments. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Keany complimented Staff and Boulder County for continuing purchases of open space <br />land. He stressed that open space is essential to preserve the integrity of Louisville as its <br />own community. <br /> <br />Mayer thanked Boulder County for their generous support in the acquisition of open <br />space. He stated that this purchase will complete a buffer to the east of Louisville and <br />preserve wildlife areas. He also thanked Staff for pursuing open space purchases. <br /> <br />Sisk requested that Staff be directed to write a letter on behalf of Council, thanking <br />Boulder County for their support in the acquisition of open space land. <br /> <br />MOTION: Levihn moved that Council authorize publication of their intent to make final <br />determination as to the purchase, for open space purposes, of an undivided twenty-five <br />percent fee title interest in a certain parcel of land totaling approximately 154.48 acres, <br />at their April 2, 2002 regular meeting, seconded by Brown.
