City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />July 17, 2007 <br />Page 3 of 13 <br />Council Member Clabots commented he also heard from residents concerned <br />about airport noise. <br />Mayor Sisk stated the ranking in Money Magazine as number three did not <br />happen because the community stood still, but moved forward, and suggested <br />the City continue to do so with pride. <br />Mayor Sisk asked Public Works Director Phare to look at some traffic calming <br />alternatives on Polk/Dahlia. Mayor Pro Tem Brown reminded Council about a <br />discussion of a stop sign at the Madison intersection. <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />Land Management Director Scott Robson spoke about the mosquito and West <br />Nile virus issues. He said there will be more spraying along Coal Creek corridor; <br />press releases and notices to residents will go out. Lake Park had an aerator fail <br />in the pond and some fish died. Water will be diverted from Harper Lake to help <br />the situation and the aerator has been fixed. <br />Interim City Manager Balser reminded Council the Study Session is canceled on <br />July 24' The next meeting will be the regular Council meeting on August 7. <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br />DISCUSSION/ACTION ON DONATION TO THE COMMUNITY FUND IN <br />HONOR OF TOM MAYER <br />In memory of former City Council member Tom Mayer, donations are being <br />accepted for the Tom Mayer 1=und for the Medically Underserved, c/o the <br />Community Foundation. <br />Discussion centered on Tom's many contributions to the community over the <br />years and the availability of moneys from the Council's Discretionary fund. <br />Council member Muckle moved the Council donate $1,000 in Honor of Tom <br />Mayer. Clabots seconded. Roll call vote. The motion carried 5 - 0.
