City Council
Meeting Minutes
July 17, 2007
ORDINANCE No. 1518, SERIES 2007 - AN ORDINANCE ZONING AS
INDUSTRIAL CERTAIN PROPERTY ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF
LOUISVILLE AND KNOWN AS THE HOYLE PROPERTY - 2"d Reading -
Public Hearing
APPROVAL OF A ZONING AGREEMENT FOR THE HOYLE PROPERTY
Mayor Sisk requested a City Attorney introduction.
City Attorney Light read Ordinance No. 1456, Series 2004, and Ordinance No.
1518, Series 2007. He explained this matter comes before City Council as a
continued public hearing on the proposed zoning for the Hoyle property.
Ordinance No. 1456, Series 2004 would zone the property as Agricultural subject
to a density restriction, and Ordinance No. 1518, Series 2007, is an alternative
ordinance which would zone the property as City Industrial.
The Hoyle item was scheduled on the Broomfield City Council agenda for July
10. However, due to lack of a quorum, the item was rescheduled to July 24.
Staff plans to attend that meeting and report at the August 7 City Council meeting
as to the action taken on the NGA amendment. Attorney Light reported he
contacted Mr. Rich Lopez, attorney for the Hoyle owner, and he supported the
continuance to August 7. Light also reported there may be some fire district
matters addressed later.
Mayor Sisk opened the public hearing and requested the City Attorney's
comments be incorporated into the hearing.
Mayor Sisk requested public comment.
COUNCIL COMMENT
Mayor Pro Tem Brown asked about the fire protection district. Interim City
Manager Balser said she had received nothing formal from the North Metro Fire
District.
MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved to continue the public hearing and second reading
of Ordinance No. 1456, Series 2004, and Ordinance No. 1518, Series 2007 to
August 7, 2007, seconded by Council member Brown. All in favor. Absent:
Council members Sackett and Marsella.
Attorney Light commented that the zoning agreement did not require a
continuance by Council. The Hoyle family has agreed to the text of the
agreement but will wait to see what happens with the ordinance.
