Absent: Council member <br />Sackett. <br />ORDINANCE No. 1524, SERIES 2007 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE <br />17 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADOPT A NEW CHAPTER <br />17.14 ENACTING MIXED USE ZONE DISTRICT REGULATIONS; TO ADOPT <br />AND INCORPORATE INTO TITLE 17 THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE MIXED <br />USED DESIGN STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES, AND TO ADOPT CERTAIN <br />OTHER AMENDMENTS T'O TITLE 17 TO IMPLEMENT THE HIGHWAY 42 <br />REVITALIZATION AREA, COMPREHENSIVE PLAN -second reading - <br />public hearing <br />Mayor Sisk requested a City ,Attorney introduction. <br />City Attorney Durfee introduced Ordinance No. 1524, Series 2007. <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br />Planning Director Wood requested Appendix A to Chapter 17.16 of the Louisville <br />Municipal Code, the PowerPoint presentation and the citizen emails and <br />correspondence be made a ~-art of the record. <br />Mayor Sisk moved the documents be made a part of the record, seconded by <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown. All ir- favor. Absent: Council member Sackett. <br />Planning Director Wood made a PowerPoint presentation of the Highway 42 <br />Project Area Mixed-Use Design Standards and Guidelines Mixed-Use Zoning <br />Code. The Plan recommends the area redevelop over time as a mixed use <br />(residential and commercial) district centered on a planned future commuter rail <br />station. The area is intended) to become an extension of the existing downtown <br />core as well as an extension of and enhancement to the two existing established <br />residential neighborhoods on the north and south ends of the Plan area. A <br />primary recommendation of the plan was to adopt a new mixed use zoning <br />district and associated design standards that captured the land use and urban <br />design recommendations from the Plan. <br />The proposed zoning code amendments include three primary sections: 1) Mixed <br />Use Residential and Commercial Community Zone Districts; 2) Associated Mixed <br />Use Design Standards and Guidelines (MUDDSG); and 3) Industrial Zoning <br />District -Limiting Certain Industrial Uses. <br />The direct beneficial outcomE:s based upon adoption of the proposed ordinance <br />are as follows: 1) Establish Character and Density of the Revitalization Area. 2) <br />Establishment of Neighborhood Protection Design Standards. 3) Provide all <br />
