Grant program to conduct structural assessments of protected <br /> Section 2. <br />structures: <br />a. Any structure that is declared a landmark pursuant to Chapter <br />Louisville Municipal Code, or which is declared a Structure of M <br />Historic Preservation Commission, shall undergo a building asses <br />develop a preservation plan to establish priorities for the main <br />property. <br />b. For a period of 18 months from when a property is declared a <br />pursuant to Chapter 15.36 of the Louisville Municipal Code, or d <br />Structure of Merit by the Historic Preservation Commission, the <br />property shall be eligible for a grant from the Historic Preserv <br />amount of up to $900 for residential properties or up to $6,000 <br />properties. Such grants shall be used solely to offset a portio <br />cost of conducting a building assessment as described in this Se <br />c. The assessment shall be conducted by a qualified consultant u <br />with the City, or by a qualified consultant of the owner's choos <br />d. An exception to the requirement for a building assessment may <br />the Historic Preservation Commission for good cause. <br />e. At the request of the owner of the property, grant funding fo <br />assessment as described in this Section may be awarded prior to <br />landmarking in accordance with this Subsection e. Prior to rece <br />grant, the property owner must request a social history be compl <br />HPC subcommittee consisting of a designated staff person and two <br />selected members of the HPC shall review the social history and <br />on-site inspection to determine whether the structure is eligibl <br />landmarking. If the structure is deemed ineligible by the HPC s <br />a pre-landmarking building assessment grant will not be issued. <br />structure is deemed eligible, the owner of the property shall be <br />pre-landmarking building assessment grant in an amount up to the <br />forth in this Section.
