Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />October 21, 2013 <br />Page 7 of 9 <br /> <br />La Grave asked what the depth of the grain was. <br />Hartronft stated it was as deep as 6 feet in some areas. <br />Stewart asked for details about the bin structure. <br />Hartronft stated it is all wood constructed with wood flooring. <br />Stewart asked if there were any issues or design concerns. <br />Hartronft stated they will need to cut holes in some of the damaged wood sections of <br />the bin to remove the grain. He added maybe the holes could then be used as doors to <br />view the bins. <br />Stewart stated the board would want to review the doors if that is direction this is going. <br />th <br />Fasick asked if the subcommittee was meeting on the 4. <br />Stewart stated it was scheduled for the library. <br />Discussion <br />Stewart gave a summary of the subcommittee meeting and stated a letter has been <br />sent out to invite them to a meeting to discuss landmarking and preservation of the <br />cabins. <br />McCartney stated staff has not been contacted in anyway. <br />Stewart stated it is difficult to contact an LLC. <br />Jean Morgan stated her main concerns are the holes on the roof and the upcoming <br />winter weather. She stated it would be great to leave them where they are or move <br />them if we have to. We could also recommend development benefits if the cabins are <br />retained in place and preserved. <br />La Grave asked if there were any rules regarding demolition through neglect. <br />McCartney stated there are codes regarding habitability, but was unsure if this has ever <br />been applied to vacant structures. <br />Fasick asked if anyone had a name for who the LLC is attributed to.
