John then gave <br /> ' examples of project for which this money could be used, such as additional support for <br /> the Fall Festival. John then talked about the availability of private grants, such as one <br /> offered by Neodata corporation, also requiring 501 (3) (c) tax status. <br /> Once we have obtained 501 (3) (c) status, the council discussed the necessity of <br /> presenting possible grant options to the city, so that key leaders will have an awareness <br /> of what our council can potentially do, and thereby be in greater support of our purpose. <br /> ' The council then exchanged philosophy and discussion regarding art/cultural programs <br /> and it was felt that they should be accessible to all people. The council hopes to <br /> partially alleviate an old sterotype that the arts are for an elite upperclass minority. <br /> ' The council discussed ideas to be presented before work groups planning the library and <br /> recreation center so that we can positively affect design decisions and make the facility <br /> more aesthetically pleasing to all. Head Librarian Nelda Mohr agreed to contact <br /> Carolyn, so that a representative of the council can attend an architect's meeting and <br /> provide input. <br /> Specific ideas for content and design of the citizen survey were discussed, and John <br /> agreed to assemble the final draft.
