Golf Course Advisory Board Minutes
April 21 2014

Damage to the Dillon Road underpass is less than feared. The box
structure is intact. Reimbursement for the damage is shared by the
Federal Highway Administration depending on location. FEMA is
expected to cover the damage to the utility lines.
The Board requested that minor seasonal flooding in the tunnel and
on the golf cart path at the intersection of the turn to 10 tee and 14 tee
be given a path to drain to the creek.
It was brought to the Board’s attention that an additional long tee was
planned for hole #10. The planned location conflicts with the
Memorial Plaque and tree and this needs to be revisited. A small
space is available between the tree and the fence. This will be
reviewed with Kevin Norby.
Letters have been received from the USGA and Colorado State
University supporting our request for FEMA to reimburse for
replacement of all greens and practice putting surfaces. This was
initially rejected by FEMA and these letters will be used to support our
appeal.
FEMA is being asked to reimburse the expenses of the grow-in period
as this is a critical part of restoring the course to an “as-was”
condition.
LU will be asked to quote for maintaining the course during the grow-
in period. This will be funded out of the Golf Course 2015 Operational
budget. It will delay capital purchases and avoid damaging the new
equipment during the more arduous grow-in time. The LU quote
should be ready by June to help frame the 2015 budget request.
Staff will request more complete definition of deliverables from LU and
a full update on estimated costs as well as regular updates to the
published schedule.
e) The city has received the $55K check from WGP and now owns
everything on site. WGP has removed the golf carts other than those
transferred to the city. WGP will provide the complete golfer database by
April 16.
f) The City now owns the coalcreekgolf.com website and this will be
incorporated as part of the City website update to be rolled out in late
summer.
g) Jim Keegan will conduct a public meeting on May 5 where he will present
his observations and insights. Keegan has not been asked to perform any
services additional to his original contract at this time.

··
Parks and Recreation Department 749 Main Street Louisville, CO 80027
·
(303) 335-4735 FAX (303) 335-4738
www.louisvilleco.gov
Parks Recreation Senior Services O
Golf
