Chairperson Carlson asked if anyone else wanted to speak for or against the application. Hearing no comments, he asked the applicant for final comments. Mr. Long stated it was not the intent to have a bar scene at the establishment and alcohol service would be highly controlled. Carlson thanked the applicant, closed the public hearing and asked for Authority comment. Rommelfanger commented this establishment would draw persons under age and asked if any other similar establishments existed. Mr. Long reported Boulder, Ft. Collins, Lyons and Denver had similar establishments. Examining those establishments and hearing from friends, helped them determine to keep it more of an adult and family establishment in the evenings. Authority Attorney Culley reminded the Authority of the criteria for approval of the license. Reasonable requirement of the neighborhood establishing needs and desire of the neighborhood, type and number of available liquor licensesand denial can hinge on findings of applicant being not of good moral character. Lipton inquired if they had done any survey of the neighborhood. Mr. Long reported all the comments they had received had been positive. One gentleman had asked for allowing teenagers unaccompanied in the evening hours. Hughesmoved the Local Licensing Authority of the City of Louisville find the applicant is of good moral character, the inhabitantsof the neighborhood desire the license be granted, the license will meet the reasonable requirements of the neighborhood, all City and State law requirements have been met and, based on these findings, the Local Licensing Authority approve issuance of a beer and winelicense for Tilt EntertainmentLLC.
