Planning Commission
Meeting Minutes
May 8, 2014

area. There now appear to be gigantic 3-story buildings towering over the smaller
houses. It seems out of character to the neighborhood. The other location he notices is
near the corner of Roosevelt, Bella Vista, and Aspen Way location. There is a row of
houses on the southwest corner that appear to be 3-story buildings. The builder
probably argued that these are two story buildings with two levels of living with a
basement and garage area. They are very large houses on very small lots with small
back yards that tower over the other houses in the neighborhood. This again seems out
of character for the neighborhood. He wants to encourage the Planning Commission,
when considering future projects, to consider the height and the density of buildings and
whether they are appropriate for the neighborhood.

Regular Business
AT&T Antennae Louisville Recreation Center: A request for a special
review use (SRU) to allow for the placement of 3 sectors of four (4) 8 foot
tall rooftop antennas, totaling 12 antennas.

Applicant, Owner and Representative: Cliff Spencer

Case Manager: Scott Robinson, Planner I
Russ states that this is the third continuance requested by AT&T. The Planning
Commission continued the first meeting based on neighborhood feedback, and then the
applicant requested the subsequent continuance based on conversations with the
neighborhood. They had a neighborhood meeting at the Louisville Recreation Center
on Wednesday, April 30, where 20 people attended. Based on the feedback, they are
looking at more design alternatives and request a continuance to the June 12 meeting.

Motion made by Tengler to continue the AT&T Antennae Resolution, seconded by
for continuance. Motion passed by voice vote 6-0.

Resolution No. 07, Series 2014: Coal Creek Gun Club and Training
Center: (1000 Griffith Street) A final planned unit development (PUD)
amendment and special review use (SRU) to allow the operation of an
indoor shooting range, training center, gun club and small retail within the
Industrial (I) zoned district, located at 1849 Cherry Street, Units 11-15. Lot
6, Block 2, The Park at CTC Subdivision. Case No. 14-020-FS/FP.
Note: Thi gun club previously received approval in 2013. They are
changing locations.

Applicant, Owner and Representative: Rich Weingarten

Case Manager: Sean McCartney, Principal Planner

Russ states that the Coal Creek Gun Club asks for a continuance based on feedback
received from owners association of the condominium. There is a third wing being
added.

Motion made by Brauneis to continue the Coal Creek Gun Club and Training Center
Resolution, seconded by Moline for continuance. Motion passed by voice vote 6-0.

Regular Business Public Hearing Items

Resolution No. 06, Series 2014: DELO Final PUD: (1000 Griffith Street) A
request to consider Phase 1 and Phase 1A of a phase final planned unit
