Lathrop was concerned about the lack of definition of uses. He felt the paramount issues were
parking and the exposure to McCaslin with just a grass retention area.

Keany was concerned about parking, employee and regular.

Sisk wanted to see a portfolio of what Thompson's company had developed in Nebraska. He was
concerned about the traffic wanting to proceed northbound on McCaslin. He preferred land
dedication rather than cash-in-lieu of, with the applicant being responsible for the maintenance of the
landscaping thereon. He did not want a 5,000 s.f restaurant.

Levihn did not like all the right turn-outs going down to Cherry Street, with people having to make
u-turns to come back.

Tom Phare, Public Works Director, stated the left turn-out would not function as McCaslin traffic
builds.

Keany did not see any access for delivery vehicles to the two front pads along McCaslin.

Mayer felt the landscaping along McCaslin needed a lot of work, as did the parking and circulation.

Keany moved that Council forward the Thompson preliminary Subdivision Plat and PUD to the
Planning Commission with Council comments. Seconded by Howard. All in favor.

CONSIDER REQUEST FOR FUNDING: COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTA TION - COMMUTER RAIL DEMONSTRATION PROJECT

Bill Simmons, City Administrator, stated that the CDOT is conducting a state wide feasibility study
for the development of se/veral commuter rail lines throughout the state and Denver Metro region.
One of the routes being considered is the Burlington Northern route that runs through Louisville.
There is a demonstration project with several trains touring the state mid-August/mid-September.
It is being funded through CDOT, various municipal and county governments, and the private sector.
CDOT requested $2,500 from the City of Louisville. Planning Commission reviewed this on June
25 and unanimously recommended a motion supporting the CDOT project. The Finance Committee
reviewed this at its July 15 meeting and moved to support the funding provided there be a stop in
Louisville.

Howard and Mayer felt that if it did not stop in Louisville, it would be of no benefit to Louisville.

Howard moved that Council approve the request for expenditures of up to $2,500 in support of the
Colorado Department of Transportation Commuter Rail Demonstration Project providing it runs
through and stops in Louisville. Seconded by Mayer.

7
