Amended on 8/18/2014
Golf Course Advisory Board Minutes
July 21 2014

restroom site, assuming the costs are in line with expectations. Water is
th
available adjacent to the 14 fairway and a permit has been obtained to
run a sewer line under the creek behind hole #17 to connect with the
main sewer. Further discussion of Add/Alternates will be held at the
Board’s August meeting when the situation with funds available from the
Contractor contingency is clearer. Staff will include the grow-in budget as
part of the Operational budget being submitted to the City Manager for
review. It is expected that this will be outsourced to LU with a phase-over
from LU to City Staff. This will postpone the need for the City to purchase
equipment until closer to the opening date,
c. Rebuilding project schedule update. LU remains confident of a spring
2015 re-opening. At present, we are 3 weeks behind schedule but 9 more
workers are being added with the intent of holding to, or improving on that
number. Work is being prioritized towards all tasks needed to get
grassing started. Other work such as repairing the parking lot and stream
beds will be done once the priority tasks are complete. The problems with
groundwater have necessitated the use of ventilated fabric to ensure air
bubbles do not form under the liner. French drains and sump pumps are
being used to remove groundwater prior to laying the liner, these will not
be needed once the liner is in place. The pond by hole #8 is fully lined
and filled and the irrigation system on holes 14 through 18 is complete and
being tested although the booster pump is not yet in place. This may limit
thth
water to the 15 green and 16 tee. LU expects to have the two
remaining ponds by holes 11 and 12 lined and filled within two weeks then
the liner work will be completed on the pond on hole 14. LU has a
contingency plan to run the booster pump from a generator pending
availability of the electrical service but this may not be cost-effective.
Irrigation work on the first 13 holes is approximately 30% complete. Hole
# 5 has the main line and laterals in place and hole #4 has the main line
and some of the laterals. Holes 1, 2, 3 and 6 are being staked in
preparation for laying the lines. 2” stubs are being created on holes #3
and hole #5 to allow hooking the Springs sub-division and Heritage park,
respectively, to the golf course irrigation system, This is being funded
separately by Public Works and will avoid disturbing the golf course if and
when the irrigation is extended to these locations. The berm work
adjacent to HWY 36 is well advanced, funded by CDOT, and a pipe is
ready to be placed running the Warembourg ditch under the berm. The
berm will make the boundary between the highway and the golf course

··
Parks and Recreation Department 749 Main Street Louisville, CO 80027
·
(303) 335-4735 FAX (303) 335-4738
www.louisvilleco.gov
Parks Recreation Senior Services O
Golf
