Motion made by Sarah Klahn to approve Resolution No. 52, a Resolution approving an <br />amendment to Title 17 of the Louisville Municipal Code, and adopting Downtown Design <br />Guidelines to be known as the Design Handbook for Downtown Louisville with the language <br />change on Page 4 of the design guidelines as follows: <br />That the definition of `should' on page 4 is modified with the addition of the following <br />sentence at the end of the definition: "Applicant must present clear reasons why they should <br />be exempt from the specific provision." <br />Seconded by Russ Van Nostrand. <br />Roll Call Vote: Russ Van Nostrand, Yes; Betty Solek, Yes; Sarah Klahn, Yes; Bill Boulet, Yes. <br />Motion passes 4:0. <br />Five minute break taken. <br />B. Resolution No. 53, Series 1998, Amendment of Title 17 of the Louisville <br />Municipal Code, and the Louisville Commercial Development Design <br />Standards and Guidelines, to set a maximum building height of 27 feet within <br />the Old Town Commercial Community (C -C) Zone District. <br />Staff Certification/Planning Commission Disclosures: <br />Paul Wood, Planning Director, certified that public notice was published in the Louisville Times <br />on Saturday, September 5, 1998, for both the Planning Commission meeting on September 22, <br />1998, and the City Council meeting on October 6, 1998, and was posted in City Hall. <br />Staff Report and Facts and Issues: <br />Paul Wood gave a brief description of the proposed ordinance, which was a response to the <br />Commission's August 11, 1998, motion to approve Resolution No. 38, Series 1998, requesting <br />Council direction with regard to a number of issues in the downtown commercial district. <br />Council approved Ordinance 1286, at First Reading on September 6, 1998.
