the applicant has met by providing the color copies.

Commission Questions:

None.

:
Applicant Presentation

Paul Nation, with the firm of Galloway, Romero and Associates, 5350 DTC Parkway,
Englewood, CO, consultants for Conoco. Mr. Nation apologized for Conoco starting this re-
image prior to getting approval from the City of Louisville. Mr. Nation explained that Conoco
has created a new standard and that all new stations are being designed as what is called a break
place. As a part of that, Conoco looked at the elements of its existing facilities, the canopy in
particular, and the signage. While they want to make the convenience stores separate from the
gas and car wash, they want to have some unifying elements which are the elliptical signs and
elliptical pump toppers. Mr. Nation summarized for the Planning Commission what Conoco is
intending to do and the reasons for the remodel.

Members of Public:

None.

Commission Questions:

Commissioner McAllister asked if elliptical lights are being lit up right now at night. Mr. Nation
answered that he has instructed the Conoco electrical technician to disconnect all lights at the
switch box so that they could not be turned on.

Chairman Boulet asked how bright the current can lights are under the canopy. Manjeet Ranu
answered that they are 400-watt metal halide light bulbs which is probably about 10 foot candles
or more. Boulet asked what Conoco would consider to be the minimum that they would accept
under a canopy. Mr. Nation replied that 10 to 20 is as low as they will go due to safety issues as
well as business issues.

Staff Summary:

Manjeet Ranu stated that staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 23, Series 1998, a
resolution approving an Amendment of an Amended Final PUD Development Plan with three
conditions. The applicant has satisfied the third condition at the time of the meeting.

Applicant Summary:
Mr. Nation added that Conoco believes that this will be an improvement to the look of the station.

3
