stated that they would like to use two different surfaces. Mr. Ellerman asked the Commission to also consider Condition No. 12, and that is that they would like the opportunity to pull in signage that is appropriate for the park not limited to having a specific code design be complimentary to the building. They want signage that is consistent to the types of signs that have been approved to date in this area. Members of the Public: None. Commission Questions: Commissioner McDermott asked if they are going to use any heated concrete around the north entrance. Mr. Ellerman stated that they have not. Staff Summary and Recommendation: Ken Johnstone stated that Staff is recommending approval with 12 conditions in Resolution No. 16, Series 2000. Public Hearing Closed / Commission Comments / Vote: Commissioner McAvinew is okay with cast stone and unsure about the flagstone. Commissioner Pritchard agrees with Staff’s recommendations. Commissioner Kalish also agrees with Staff’s recommendations. She likes the natural stone and would like to see more of it used. Commissioner Lipton is concerned with the parking. He feels that it is over parked. He would like to see a parking ratio that is closer to what is provided in the other buildings until such time as they can demonstrate the need for the additional parking. Mr. Lipton will support Staff’s recommendation the way it is at this time. Commissioner Leh likes the product that the applicant has brought forward for the cast stone. Mr. Leh is also concerned with the parking and feels that too much parking may look unattractive. Commissioner McDermott is in favor of the cast stone. The flagstone he feels may be tough to maintain. As far as the signage, he would like to see it to know what it is before the Commission approves it. 17
