th
power lines at 75 and Jay Road and they buzz like crazy, in wet weather in particular.

Lisa Cummings, 795 West Pinnon Way. Ms. Cummings would like to support underground
power lines.

Christopher Westdyke, 764 West Lois Court. Mr. Westdyke addressed Dr. Pierson’s comment
regarding a study that addressed busy streets versus power lines and the safety therein. He hopes
that somewhere in the study that it addresses not having busy streets and not having power lines.
He would like to know more specific information on exactly how tall the poles behind his house
are. He also wondered if some of the other towers that have been mentioned along the mesa,
west of McCaslin, are those the same thing that they are talking about doing in the
neighborhoods. Mr. Westdyke would like to see the power lines put underground.

Commissioner Lipton clarified the record, notwithstanding any personal feelings about
Interlocken that this system is part of a large system, not a single part of a system, and it does
support what they characterize as the North Metro area, which certainly may include Broomfield
and Interlocken, but probably other property owners and developers.

Dave Wilkenson, 764 Peach Court. Mr. Wilkenson asked if the additional electricity would also
serve the new shopping center. If so, he would raise the same question. Should they be helping
to pay for this.

Dave Banner, 801 West Mulberry Street. When there are frequent winds, especially during the
winter and the spring, the lines get very loud. That should also be another consideration.

Will Zarlany, 807 West Mahogany. Mr. Zarlany stated that when he does the math on the maps,
the lines are on top of each other, so is the existing line going to be taken down and then new line
put through so it’s centered? Or, will the poles be put to the sides?

Eddie Tang, 788 Nighthawk Circle. Mr. Tang asked how much current there will be in the lines
in the next 5 or 10 years.

Commissioner Lipton asked Mr. Thompson to work with Staff and develop written responses that
can be given to the public and to the subsequent meetings instead of trying to respond now
verbally.

Applicant Summary:

Mr. Thompson stated that this line is not to serve Interlocken. This is part of the grid that serves
everyone. Mr. Thompson also stated that the people that moved here did move here knowing
that that line was in place. A he feel that is important to note from their company’s perspective.
The line will not go away, there will always be a line in that right-of-way. Mr. Thompson noted
that Public Service Company will mitigate any damages that they cause from construction. They

9
