Approved – September 18, 2003
reinstated. b.) The two parking stalls currently depicted as short-term parking shall be reinstated.
c.) The two parking stalls between the two pairs of HC parking stalls just to the south of the
tenant space shall be noted with painting striping as a student drop off zone.

Commission Questions:
Pritchard asked if there are directional signs.
Johnstone stated that there are no directional signs but that the circulation pattern of the parking
lot should be communicated to the families.

Robson asked if there are bike racks available at the front of the building for the older students.
Johnstone replied that the original PUD showed the location of a bike rack but he could not affirm
that it was installed. He will confirm the location and if not found then will contact the owner to
have them installed.

Applicant Presentation:
Ron Barretta, Mountain Gymnastics Training Center, Inc., 419 E. Stuart St., Ft. Collins, CO
provided a general overview of the programs offered at the Ft. Collins location and their desire to
have facility in another location. They have selected Louisville and would like to start with just
the gymnastics program. The facility they have selected would be appropriate for that program.
If they are successful they would like to locate other property in Louisville to expand.

He stated that they are familiar with the public hearing process and the length of time it takes to
have a project completed from beginning to end. They appreciate the opportunity to come before
the Planning Commission this evening and will answer any questions they might have.

Commission Questions:
Loo asked if this facility would include a summer camp similar to what they have in Ft. Collins.
Barretta explained that the current proposal is not for a summer camp. The space is not available
to provide that kind of service.

Robson asked if the weekend schedule would permit a private party type setting for a fee.
Barretta replied that they would limit the party to 10 to 12 children and it would be a fee basis.

Members of the Public:
McAvinew asked if anyone in the audience had come to speak.

None heard.

Staff Summary and Recommendation:
Staff clarified the question of student loading in the classroom and importance of being flexible
with the number when and if the need arises.

Applicant Summary:
No additional information provided.

Public Hearing Closed Commission Comments:

9
