<br />AUTHORIZATION TO NEGOTIATE FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE CALLAHAN <br />PROPERTY FOR OPEN SPACE <br /> <br />Bill Simmons, City Administrator, stated that this is for the purchase of 54 acres of the Callahan <br />property at a cost of$10,775/acre or $581,850, with the possibility of the County splitting the cost <br />of the property with the City. It had been discussed at the last Work Session. <br /> <br />Davidson move that Council authorize the City Administrator to continue to negotiate in good faith <br />for acquisition of the Callahan property with the property owner and the County, seconded by Sisk. <br />All in favor with Howard being absent. <br /> <br />TABLING NORTHWEST PARKWAY/w-470 DISCUSSIONS <br /> <br />Mayer moved that Council table the Northwest Parkway/W-470 discussions, seconded by Lathrop. <br />All in favor. <br /> <br />OTHER REGULAR BUSINESS ITEMS ARISING AFTER PREP ARA TION OF AGENDA <br /> <br />NONE <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />NONE <br /> <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br /> <br />Bill Simmons, City Administrator, reported that the construction on Senior Center expansion will <br />recommence on Monday, December 9 and completion of the project shall not exceed January 15. <br />Discussions on the senior meal programs continue and a new provider had been identified to begin <br />at the beginning of the year. Simmons had received a letter from the Municipal Judge regarding <br />judicial compensation. The Municipal Judge's salary is set by ordinance and Simmons requested that <br />Council refer this to the legal committee for review and recommendation. He reported that ComCast <br />had finalized their acquisition of Scripps Howard and Gregg Griffin will continue to be the local <br />contact. Simmons passed out a revision of the Admor request for proposal for Council's review. He <br />pointed out that it had been revised to say that the property may be utilized for single family residence <br />development or other appropriate uses which are in concert with the South Sub Area Comprehensive <br />Plan. The Council will reserve the right to accept any proposal, whether or not this proposal meets <br />the minimum acceptable sales price. At Council's December 17 meeting the Public Works Director <br />wished to present information on Public Service billing and their new gas adjustments. <br /> <br />9 <br />
