<br />Bill Simmons, City Administrator, stated that negotiations had been going on for the past several <br />weeks for the City to purchase a portion of the tract ofland north of Hillsborough North Subdivision, <br />west of the Burlington Northern Railroad, and south of Baseline Road. The City and the County <br />would be joint purchasers of 46 acres for $400,000. A purchase contract was being drafted. An <br />ordinance is required as part of the of the process. He may request an emergency clause at second <br />reading. <br /> <br />Davidson called for Council comments. <br /> <br />Lathrop asked that the City's portion of the land be outright. <br /> <br />Sisk preferred undivided interest with the County allowing the City to manage it. <br /> <br />Sisk moved that Council adopt Ordinance No. 1255, Series 1996, authorizing the payment of City <br />money for acquisition of land for open space, set out for publication, and set the public hearing for <br />January 7, 1997, seconded by Levihn. All in favor with Howard being absent. <br /> <br />OTHER REGULAR BUSINESS ITEMS ARISING AFTER PREPARATION OF AGENDA <br /> <br />NONE <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />Susan Griffiths, City Attorney, wished Council and staff a happy holiday season. <br /> <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br /> <br />Bill Simmons, City Administrator, gave Notice of Final Determination about the purchase of 46 acres <br />ofland, as previously described. He informed Council that in their packet was information about the <br />Public Service Company Gas Therm billing. He stated that the City Attorney had provided a <br />memorandum that the Weld County District Court had set the hearing on the City of Louisville's <br />petition for inclusion in the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District and the Municipal Sub- <br />District for February 7 at 8:15 a.m. He passed out a memorandum on an update on the cable TV <br />updating. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Sisk stated that there is an open issue with Koebel. <br /> <br />Bill Simmons, City Administrator, stated that it was the way surf flows are measured.
