Historic Preservation Commission
Meeting Minutes
December 15, 2014
The other board members agreed.
Watson asked if there was an idea of how much a commercial assessment might cost.
Trice stated we haven't done many but the residential assessments have been using all
$900.
Stewart stated he believes the amount is correct but it would be good to start a data
collection of the assessments that have been done in the past.
Fasick made a motion to allow for a building assessment for up to $6,000 for this
property.
Echohawk seconded the motion.
The motion was approved unanimously.
PROBABLE CAUSE — 1024 Jefferson
Trice presented the information provided in staffs report. She presented the historical
background, including some photos. She believes the structure has architectural and
social integrity and believes the house has probable cause for a potential landmark.
Watson asked the applicant to present.
Lois Adlefinger stated she is just interested in maintaining their structure as is.
Jean Morgan stated she was happy they are interested in maintaining their old town
character.
Fahey stated she thought this was a cool example of old town Louisville and is unique
because of the original owner.
Echohawk stated she like the craftsman style architecture and thinks a 1930's house
having indoor plumbing is very impressive.
Stewart agreed with the other board members but believes the architectural integrity
has some qualifications such as siding.
Fasick stated she is supportive of the request but was struck by the shingle siding.
However she believes the form of the structure is still intact.
Watson believes the structure is eligible for landmarking which makes it eligible for the
building assessment.
