Operation o:E' vehicles and actions o.f. pedes- <br />trians on approach of authorized emergenc:~T vehicles - TJpon <br />the immediate approach of an authorized emergency vehicle <br />equipped tivith lighted red. light or ~rtJ'nen the driver is giv- <br />ing a sinal ?udible for :five hundred feet by horn., siren, <br />whistle or bell: <br />(1) The driver of ever~* other vehicle shall yield <br />right-of-way and shall immediately drive. to a position parked <br />to and as close as possible to the right-hand edge of the <br />curb of the roadwa4r clear of any intersection and shall <br />stop and remain in suc"ri position until the authorized emer- <br />gency vehicle has passed, except when otherwise directed <br />by a Police officer. <br />(2) The pedestrian shall ,yield the right-of-wa.y and <br />shall immediately leave the roadway and remain out off' the <br />road~~ray until the authorized emergency vehicle has passed, <br />except when otherwise directed by a Police officer. <br />This section shall r..ot ,operate to relieve the driver <br />of an authorized e7nergenczr ~Tehicle from the duty to drive <br />with due re and ~'or the s~,afety of all persons using the <br />highway. <br />Sec. '7. Every person propellin any push cart or <br />riding a bicycle or an animal upon a roadway, a.nd every <br />person driving any anima7_-drawn vehicle shall be s~abject <br />to the provisions of this ordinance applicable to the driver `~ <br />of any vehicle, except those provisions which by their very <br />nature have no application. <br />5 <br />r <br />
