water line for a fire hydrant, is it typical
for us to reimburse a developer for this
portion?
Franklin stated the city has agreements with
developers where by we participate in the
cost of recoveries and oversizing of water
mains.
Howard stated that without the attorney
seeing the agreement and without the council
having a chance to see the agreement, I do
not feel comfortable about authorizing
something like this. I would also recommend
that we refer this to a work session.
Howard moved and Szymanski seconded to refer
this to a work session. Motion carried 6-0.
Sackett rejoined the meeting
Carnival asked to be excused from action on the next item due to
possible conflict of interest.
GRACE MAR SUBDIVISION - REQUEST FOR OUTSIDE WATER SERVICE
Phare stated the city has received a request
from presentations of the Grace Mar Subdivi-
sion for backup water service. The subdivi-
sion is requesting that they be allowed to
access the City~s water utility system for
water service during peak summer months as
their existing well system cannot meet de-
mands. Typically the City has required
annexation in order to provide municipal
services. In this case the policy needs to
be reconsidered as the subdivisions cause
difficulties in providing municipal services.
Inspection of the subdivision indicates that
it is not constructed to the City of Louis-
ville standards, such as, curb and gutter,
streets, street width, street pavement thick-
ness, sewer lines, water lines and storm
drainage. It is not necessarily desirable to
enforce the policy of requiring annexation
for providing services.
Jace Burroughs, 472 King St, Grace Mar
Subdivision. Burroughs explained that Grace
Mar is 1 invited to 14 homes . What we are
looking for is some help during the summer
peak months and during times when our system
fails us. This would be a supplement to our
current water system supply. We have a well
that we certainly use. We are interested in
9
