Motion <br />passed. <br />CHAMBER OF COMMERCE - REMODELING REQUEST <br />Howard asked how much money are we talking about <br />for the remodeling effort and how will the <br />remodeling benefit the citizens of Louisville. <br />Gene Caranci, Executive Director of the Louisville <br />Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce is <br />planning some minor remodeling to their office. <br />The purpose of the remodeling is to provide a <br />conference room for the board and committee <br />meetings and to be used as a Small Business <br />Development Center in conjunction with the Front <br />Range Community College. We will also upgrade the <br />carpeting throughout the building and paint the <br />entire office area. We are requesting permission <br />to do this remodeling, not to exceed $3,700 and <br />have the cost of the remodeling be offset against <br />the rent. Chamber members will be able to schedule <br />the conference room at any time. <br />Howard will other businesses be able to utilize <br />the conference room also. <br />Caranci stated yes, we would not turn anyone away <br />if they needed it. <br />Davidson asked that since Councilwoman Szymanski <br />is the city's representative for the Chamber and <br />is an the Board of Directors is it permissible for <br />her to vote on this issue. <br />Williams stated that since she is a member of the <br />board for the city that is not a conflict of <br />interest. <br />Davidson asked why the taxpayers of Louisville <br />would want to pay for the remodeling of the <br />Chambers? <br />Caranci stated the Chamber has a job to do, our <br />job is to promote the city. What the taxpayers <br />gain is our promotion of the city. We hope to <br />attract businesses and that will bring in money to <br />the city.
