we have obtained. I feel what we are
paying our attorney is way out of line
compared to cities in around u are
paying.
Howard stated he also has asked some
questions about whether we are receiving
good service when dealing with the
negotiations with Superior and if there
was a map showing the area. A stateanent
was made that the map did not in fact
come from Mr. Williamson's office. The
map that came from his office did not
cross McCaslin. I have a copy of the
map that was given to the negotiation
team from Mr. Williamson's office that
clearing shows that it did cross
McCaslin. I feel that the negotiation
team was not well serviced.
Mayor Fauson stated it was hard to
compare the cost of water in the basin
we are in because it is highly
competitive. It is also hard to compare
the price of water from one city to
another if they are not within the basin
and competing for the same water.
Hornbostel stated her major concern ~;
that the Superior law suit came about as
a result of the previous council being
advised to breach an agreement. It
ended up in a two year court battle
which would have saved the city money
and Mr. Williamson was the attorney at
that time. I believe that was a big
mistake. I feel he is costing us to
much money. I believe there are water
attorney's out there that we can work
with.
Davidson stated if the city's fees for
water attorney were average or on the
high side because of the type of water
we are buying that would be a valid
point. I feel that our water fees are
way out of line with the surrounding
areas.
By Roll Call Vote motion passed 4-2,
with Mayor Fauson and Carnival voting
no.
Sackett also abstained from this issue due to a conflict of
interest.
8
