arts and something the Louisville
citizens can be proud of.
Carolyn Markham, 1315 Franklin
Ave., stated that the humanities
council is requesting primary use
at 801 Grant as a community cultur-
al center for Louisville. We do
plan to be self supporting and do
not foresee any need for city
funds . I f we had a permanent
building such as the community
building we could generate funds
from other grants. We will work
closely with the other community
groups of Louisville to assure that
these traditional activities will
continue to take place.
John Hansen, 504 W. Spruce, stated
he to would like to see the commu-
nity building used for the Louis-
ville Community Arts Center. I
feel by doing this it will enhance
the quality of life in Louisville.
We feel that the center can be run
without asking for money from the
city or from city tax dollars.
There are a lot of grant funds that
we can bring monies and grants into
Louisville. There are lots of
options that we have to support
ourselves. I also feel this will
help the economic effect.
Hornbostel felt the building should
be kept in the community so that
all different kinds of groups could
use. I would support having the
Arts and Humanities Council use it.
Szymanski also concurred with
Hornbostel and felt they were doing
a wonderful job.
Hornbostel moved and Szymanski
seconded to allow the Arts and
Humanities Council to use the
community building. Motion passed.
APPROVAL OF SCHEMATIC REMODEL PLAN/REQUEST BID PROPOSALS - CITY
HALL
