residential members could be placed along this
street.
Mayor Fauson: The request. had come to the Council before and the
business that is creating the problem is Sill
Tires not Explosive Fabrications. We have made
contact with Sill Tires to have something done
about this to leave this parking open.
Bill Sharp, CEO of Explosive Fabricators.
Sharp: Is concerned about the parking. We did address
the concerns by the residents along Griffin and
have directed our employees not to park on that
side of the street.
Hornbostel: Could we contact Sill Tires again and make them
aware of the concerns by the homeowner and the
council?
Mayor Fauson: We did contact 3111 Tires within the last few days
about our concerns.
Sackett moved to adopt Resolution X25, Series
1990, seconded by Carnival. By Roll Call Vote
Motion Passed 7-0.
INFORMATION - TITLE I GRANT - LSCA - LIBRARY
Mohr: The Library was recently awarded a Title I Grant
through the Library Services and Construction Act.
It is for a project entitled "Providing Science
Fair Support for the Children of Louisville".
This will provide funds to purchase book,
periodicals and software that will be helpful to
students preparing science fair projects.
DISCUSSION/DIRECTION - LOW INCOME HOUSING PROJECT
Clair Beckman, representing the Housing Authority.
Beckman: The Housing Authority has the opportunity to apply
for monies to provide a new form of low income
housing for the city. The Housing Authority now
has three projects none of which are single family
projects. This allows us to buy houses many of
which we hope will be HUD houses, so that they
will be good buys. There is a need for this and a
back log of people who need this type of housing.
We will buy throughout the city and not in just
one neighborhood.
Jim Lilles, Director for the Louisville Housing Authority.
8
