Howard - Benedetti <br />Davidson - Benedetti <br />Szymanski - Bortz <br />Sackett - Bortz <br />Carnival - Bortz <br />Hank Bortz was elected to the Lafayette/Louisville Downtown and <br />Revitalization Board. <br />PROCLAMATION - BANNED BOOKS WEEK - LIBRARY <br />Mayor Fauson declared the week of September 22 through September <br />29 be celebrated as "Banned Books Week" nationwide. The Louis- <br />ville Public Library will be joining in this event with a display <br />of books that have been banned and special reading list. <br />PROCLAMATION - LOUISVILLE HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK - AVISTA HOSPITAL <br />- PRESENTATION TRICIA GRANT <br />Mayor Fauson declared the week of October 1 through October 5 to <br />be "LOUISVILLE HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK" <br />Tricia Grant: Gave a brief presentation about how the <br />Louisville Health Awareness Week came about. <br />Also Grant introduced and thanked everyone <br />that participated in the Health Awareness <br />week. <br />DISCUSSION/DIRECTION - CABLE TELEVISION FRANCHISE - SCRIPPS- <br />HOWARD <br />Brand: For several weeks we have been receiving <br />complaints and concerns regarding Cable TV in <br />Louisville and Cumbo has put together the <br />packet with the complaints. We have also <br />presented the concerns to Scripps Howard and <br />tonight Greg Griffin is here to respond to <br />the concerns and the complaints. <br />Greg Griffin, regional manager for Scripps Howard Cable in <br />Colorado. <br />Griffin: Gave an overview of how the company runs and <br />how the cable TV got started. Also explained <br />was how the cable converters are used. Some <br />of the residents of Louisville only have <br />limited or a basic service which is a feature <br />of the addressable system that we offer to <br />the citizens. We do have a scrambled service <br />which allows us to instantly upgrade, down- <br />grade and turn or switch services. It also <br />allows us to have pay-of-view option. One <br />problem is that people do not have cable <br />ready TV's. From our stand point of view <br />
